Hoffenheim to improve European hopes with a win over Hannover

On Saturday afternoon, Hoffenheim host Hannover at the PreZero Arena, as the home side look to improve their chances of European football next season.

Hoffenheim have endured a mixed run of form of late in the German top-flight. Julian Nagelsmann’s team have slipped to ninth place in the Bundesliga table, despite just one defeat in 14 league outings.

The problem for the home side of late has been too many draws, as eight of Hoffenheim’s last ten league games have produced draws. However, a 3-3 draw at league leaders Dortmund last time out in the league was certainly a respectable result, especially as they had to come from three goals down to rescue a point.

Despite their slight dip in form, the home side are still just three points off fifth-place in an incredibly tight part of the German top-flight table.

Hoffenheim have failed to win any of their last five home games in the Bundesliga. However, four of those five winless matches have produced draws.

Hannover 96 are in desperate need of points from their trip to Sinsheim, as the visitors currently occupy one of the Bundesliga’s relegation spots. The visitors are currently four points from safety but are just one point behind Stuttgart who are in the relegation play-off berth.

A terrible recent run in the German top-flight of one win in ten games has led to Hannover’s current predicament. However, there may be hope for the visitors yet, as a 2-0 home win over Nurnberg last time out in the Bundesliga ended a four-game losing run in the league.

One of the visitor’s biggest problems of late in the German top-flight has been their away form. Hannover have failed to win in 22 games on their travels in the Bundesliga.
