Two teams regarded as surprise packages in La Liga meet on Sunday night, as Real Betis host Alaves at the Estadio Benito Villamarin.

Real Betis are currently seventh place in La Liga, just three points behind the visitors who occupy sixth, and the final European berth in the Spanish top-flight.

The home side’s recent form in La Liga has been inconsistent. However, a record of just two wins in their last seven in the Spanish top-flight is not a great one. Last time out in La Liga, the Andalucian’s suffered a 3-0 defeat at Leganes.

Betis have been difficult to beat at the Villamarin in La Liga of late, losing just one of their last seven league games on home soil. They have only failed to score once in their last ten home games in La Liga.

Real Betis are unbeaten in three La Liga games against Alaves, having recorded two victories in the process.

If results go Alaves’ way, the visitors could be in the Champions League spots by the end of the weekend. Despite their lofty league position, Alaves’ form has dipped of late in the Spanish top-flight.

In fact, a 2-0 win over Levante last time out ended a three-game losing run in the Spanish top-flight for the visitors. Their recent league games have been relatively high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in three of their last four matches.

Deportivo Alavés have a poor recent away record in La Liga, losing five of their last seven games on their travels while recording just one win. The visitors have struggled for goals on their travels in La Liga, as they have failed to score in four of their last six away matches in the Spanish top-flight.

Forebet predicts that Real Betis will record a victory in a high scoring clash to leapfrog the visitors in the Spanish top-flight table.
