On Thursday evening, Slavia Prague host Racing Genk at the Sinobo Stadium in the Europa League last 32 first leg.
This clash could be a fascinating one, as both teams are currently top of their domestic leagues by some distances.
Despite their good form in their own leagues, Slavia Prague’s form in the Europa League has been inconsistent. In fact the team from the Czech capital has won four, lost three and drawn one of their last eight games, which sums up their inconsistency in Europe of late.
The home side’s recent outings in the Europa League have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in their last nine outings in the competition.
Slavia are unbeaten in their last three European games on home soil, having recorded two wins and a draw. However, they have also won just two of their last five home European matches.
Just like their games in general in the Europa League of late, the home side’s outings at the Sinobo have been low scoring with under 2.5 goals scored in their last six European matches on home soil.
Racing Genk have a relatively strong recent record in the Europa League, as the Belgian league leaders have suffered just one defeat in 13 games in the competition. They are also currently four games unbeaten in the Europa League.
The visitors also have a strong recent away record in the Europa League, winning four of their last six matches in Europe’s secondary competition. Genk have been highly prolific on their travels of late in the competition, scoring at least two goals in 12 of their last 13 away games in the Europa League. Their attacking threat has also meant that 12 of their last 13 matches on the road in the competition have produced over 2.5 goals.
With very little to choose between these two teams, it is no surprise that Forebet predicts that this game will finish in a low scoring draw.
