Benfica have the chance to move within two points of league leaders Porto at the top of the Primeira Liga when they host Boavista on Tuesday night.

Benfica are on an excellent recent run of form having recorded eight wins in their last nine league outings, including winning 1-0 at Vitoria Guimaraes last time out in the Portuguese top-flight.

The home side’s recent league games have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven matches, including their last three league games.

The Eagles have a strong recent record at the Estadio Da Luz, winning seven of their last nine home games in the Primeira Liga. Benfica’s recent home games in the league have been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in their last four home matches.

Benfica have a strong recent record against Boavista, as the home side are unbeaten in 12 matches against the visitors in all competitions.

Boavista are currently just a point above the relegation zone. The visitor’s recent form has been poor of late, as they have won just two of their last 11 matches in the Primeira Liga. To make matters worse they have lost four of their last five league games, including last time out when they suffered a 2-0 home defeat against Portimonense.

Their recent league games have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in their last four league outings.

Boavista’s away form has been poor of late, as they have won one of their last 18 matches on their travels in the Primeira Liga, failing to win in eight away matches. A lack of goals has been a big factor in the visitor’s poor away form, as they have scored just once in five away games in the Portuguese top-flight.

Forebet predicts that Benfica will record a comfortable victory in a high scoring game to move closer to leaders Porto.
