On Sunday night, Real Betis host European champions Real Madrid in arguably the game of the weekend in the Spanish top-flight.

Real Betis are currently sixth place, just four points behind the ailing visitors who occupy fifth. Despite their lofty position in La Liga, the home side has slipped up of late in the Spanish top-flight, drawing with Eibar before last time out suffering a 2-1 defeat at struggling Huesca.

The home side’s recent matches in the Spanish top-flight have been high scoring, as five of the last eight games have produced over 2.5 goals.

Real Betis have been in decent form of late in La Liga, as they are unbeaten in four league matches, having recorded two wins and two draws. Their recent home games in the league have been tight, low scoring affairs with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six matches.

European champions Real Madrid find themselves in the unfamiliar position of fifth in La Liga, a point outside the Champions League spots.

Los Blancos have endured real mixed fortunes of late in the Spanish top-flight. However, they have drawnoweHoer with Villarreal and lost 2-0 against Real Sociedad in their last two games in the Spanish top-flight.

The honeymoon period is well and truly over for boss Santiago Solari, who is now under major pressure with his future at the club in doubt.

The visitor’s recent La Liga matches have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five matches in the Spanish top-flight.

Real Madrid have been inconsistent on their travels in La Liga of late. However, winning two away games from their last eight is not exactly a great record for the European champions.

Forebet predicts that this game will be a tight, close game and end in a low scoring draw to add to the recent frustration of the Madridistas.
