On Wednesday night, Chelsea host Bournemouth in the quarter-final of the League Cup, with both sides hoping to make it to the last four of the competition.

Chelsea have been in decent form of late, recording four wins in their last six matches in all competitions, while suffering just one defeat.

The Blues have a good recent record in this competition, winning five of their last seven matches while suffering one defeat in the process.

Chelsea are unbeaten in nine home games in the League Cup, having recorded seven wins in normal time and one in extra-time. The Blues have also been prolific on home soil in this competition, scoring at least two goals in six of their last seven home matches.

Their recent League Cup games at Stamford Bridge have been high scoring too, with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six home matches in this competition.

Bournemouth head to south west London in terrible form, having lost six of their last seven games. The fact the Cherries have conceded at least two goals in all six matches has not helped their cause.

The visitors have a good recent record in the League Cup, winning four of their last five matches in the competition. Ironically, the only blip in that five-game run was a 2-1 defeat against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, almost a year to the day of Wednesday’s match.

Eddie Howe’s side has a good away record in this competition, winning five of their last eight games in normal time and one in extra time. The only defeats the visitors have suffered in those aforementioned eight away games were that defeat at Chelsea and at Liverpool.

Forebet predicts that Chelsea will record a victory in a high scoring clash to book their place in the last four of the competition for a second straight season.
