Monchengladbach set to continue good run against Nurnberg

On Tuesday evening, high flying Monchengladbach host Nurnberg at the Stadion im Borussia-Park.

Monchengladbach have been something of a surprise package in the Bundesliga this season, as they are currently second place in the German top-flight table, nine points behind league leaders Dortmund.

The home side’s momentum was rather halted by a 0-0 at Hoffenheim last time out in the German top-flight. That draw means that the Foals have now won one, drawn one and lost one of their last three league games.

Monchengladbach’s recent games in the Bundesliga have been relatively high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in 11 of their last 13 outings in the German top-flight.

Dieter Hecking’s side has a very strong recent home record in the Bundesliga, as they are unbeaten in 12 league games on home soil, while also recording ten straight victories in the Bundesliga.

Monchengladbach have also been prolific in those aforementioned unbeaten home games, scoring at least two goals in all of their unbeaten matches.

Nurnberg have struggled for points this season in the German top-flight and are currently 17th place in the table. However, the visitors are just three points from safety and one point behind Fortuna Dusseldorf, who occupy the relegation play-off spot.

The visitors have failed to win in their last nine games in the Bundesliga while losing four of their last five league matches. Last time out in the German top-flight they suffered a 2-0 home defeat by Wolfsburg.

Nurnberg have a woeful recent away record in the Bundesliga, failing to win in 13 matches on their travels while suffering 11 defeats in the process. The visitors have endured major defensive problems of late in top-flight away games, conceding at least two goals in their last five matches.
