On Thursday evening, Chelsea visits Hungary to face Videoton in Group L of the Europa League, as the Blues look to finish the group with a hundred per cent record.

Videoton, also known as Vidi FC are currently third place in the group and heading out of the competition. They are level on points with third place BATE Borisov, so the home side must better BATE’s result in their game against PAOK Salonika.

In truth, Vidi have endured a difficult Europa League campaign, with their only points collected against bottom of the group PAOK. The Hungarian outfit has won just two of their last eight games in this competition while losing four of their last six matches.

Vidi’s recent Europa League matches have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last eight games, including their last five European outings.

Their recent home form in this competition has been slightly stronger, as the home side has recorded three wins in their last six matches on home soil.

Chelsea have comfortably won the group, winning all five of their games. In fact, the Blues are nine points better off than the two teams competing for second spot, which shows the gulf in quality between the teams in the group.

Maurizio Sarri’s team have built their domination of the group on solid defensive foundations, as the Blues have conceded just once in their group games this season.

The visitors have won their last eight games in the Europa League dating back to 2013 when they won the competition. A repeat of that triumph cannot be ruled out this season.

Chelsea have won their last three away games in the Europa League and they will be confident of continuing that good record in Hungary.

Forebet predicts that the Blues will finish the group with a hundred per cent record by recording a victory in a low scoring encounter.
