Bournemouth Aim to Address Slide with Home Win

There are four Premier League fixtures to enjoy on Tuesday night, one of which takes places at the Vitality Stadium as Bournemouth host Huddersfield Town.

This is a huge game for both teams and Bournemouth need to win if they want to avoid the possibility of sliding into the bottom half of the table despite a good start to the season.  If they lose and other results go against them, Bournemouth could drop to 11th place.

Huddesfield are in a battle against relegation this season and begin the game in 17th place, just 1 point clear of the drop zone. A win in this match would be a sign they are up for the fight and can avoid relegation this season.

Bournemouth have seen a slump in form over recent weeks and come into this game having lost their last four matches in the Premier League.  The Cherries have had some tough fixtures and been defeated at home by Manchester United and Arsenal plus tasted defeat at Newcastle United and Manchester City.

Things don’t get much easier for Eddie Howe with games coming up against Liverpool and Chelsea so they must take something from this match.

Trends show Bournemouth have had no trouble scoring goals in recent games but have also been conceding, with both teams scoring in each of their last four Premier League matches. Bournemouth have failed to win their last three home league games and have kept just one clean sheet in their last six at the Vitality Stadium.

Huddersfield will be hugely disappointed to have lost 2-1 at home to Brighton and Hove Albion on the weekend.  Having taken the lead in the match, Huddersfield went down to ten men and could not hold on, eventually losing the game.

However, Huddersfield can take heart from their recent results and that was their first defeat in their last four Premier League games.  The Terriers have defeated Fulham at home and Wolves away plus picked up a point in a 1-1 draw at home with West Ham United.

Away form in the Premier League is poor and Huddersfield have won only one of their away league games this season and just one of their last eleven, a run which stretches back into last season.  Huddersfield have scored in six of their last seven away Premier League matches.

Team news and Bournemouth will be without Adam Smith, who is injured.  He is the only major concern for Eddie Howe who is unlikely to make big changes despite recent poor form.

Huddersfield will be without Steve Mounie after the striker picked up a red card on the weekend.  He will be a big miss for the visitors and joins the injured Chris Lowe on the sidelines for this match.

Bournemouth have been out of sorts recently but have had some tough games.  The Cherries will believe this is a game they must win and if they play to their full potential, they should have enough to take 3 points.
