The Eagles and Clarets hard to separate

The Eagles and Clarets hard to separate

On Saturday afternoon, Crystal Palace host Burnley at Selhurst Park, as both sides look to move away from the Premier League relegation zone.

Crystal Palace have made a poor start to their Premier League campaign and are currently 16th place in the table, just one point clear of the drop zone.

The Eagles have now failed to win in eight Premier League games, suffering five defeats in the process. However, a 0-0 draw at Manchester United last time out was a highly creditable result.

Palace’s recent games in the top-flight have been relatively low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last ten matches. A contributing factor in those low scoring games is that the Eagles have struggled for goals this season, as no team has scored less than Palace’s eight goals in the league.

Roy Hodgson’s side has been in poor form of late on home soil, failing to win in five games and suffering four defeats in the process. Their home games have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in six of their last seven league matches at Selhurst Park.

Similar to the home side, Burnley have struggled for points this season and currently sit one place and point outside of the relegation zone.

The Clarets have failed to win in six league matches while losing four of their last five games in the Premier League. A poor defensive record has contributed to the Clarets recent poor form, as the visitors have conceded at least two goals in four of their last five matches.

Sean Dyche’s team have won just once in their last nine away games in the top-flight dating back to last season. They have also failed to score in five of their last eight league games on their travels.

With little between these two teams, it's unsurprising that Forebet predicts that this clash will finish in a low scoring draw.
