Ukraine set to continue impressive record in the Nations League

On Friday night, Slovakia host Ukraine in Nations League B Group 1, as the visitor’s look to continue their perfect record in the competition.
Slovakia have lost both of their games in the Nations League so far, suffering a 1-0 defeat in the reverse fixture and losing 2-1 on home soil against neighbours Czech Republic.
Last time out, the home drew 1-1 in Sweden, which means that Slovakia have won just once in six international games. One of the main reasons for the home side’s struggles is their poor defensive record, as they have kept just one clean sheet in their last nine matches.
One big positive for Slovakia of late is their home record, as they have recorded six wins in their last eight games on home soil. Their recent home games have been high scoring too, with over 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five matches on home soil.
Ukraine heads into this game on the back of a nine-game unbeaten run in all competitions, consisting of six wins and three draws. Last time out, the visitors recorded a 1-0 win over the Czech Republic. The win sealed top spot in the group for Andriy Shevchenko’s side.
Their recent international games have been relatively low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last eight matches.
The visitors are seven matches unbeaten on their travels, having recorded four wins and three draws. While their recent away games have not always been high scoring, five of their last six matches have seen both teams score, including their last three games.
This could be a relatively close match. However, Forebet predicts that Ukraine will continue their hundred per cent record in this competition by recording a victory in a high scoring encounter.
