Chelsea sit in third place behind Manchester City and Liverpool, but the Blues need to prevent dropping points again this week to keep pace. Maurizio Sarri’s team has drawn three of their last four matches.Chelsea have dropped six points, yet are still only two points off first place.

Burnley are 13th and go into Sunday’s game having lost to Manchester City 5-0 a week ago. Sean Dyche’s team hasn’t won in their last two games. Consistency hasn’t been Bunley’s strong point this season and they sit only three points above the relegation zone.

Sarri’s Blues are still undefeated this season. They are one of three teams who haven’t suffered a loss after nine matches. Chelsea go into the weekend having defeated BATE Borisov 3-1 in the Europa League. Blues’ fringe player Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored a hat-trick, but there is little chance he will get the start on Sunday. Sarri has already informed the England international not to ‘get his hopes up’ about playing following his great performance.

Eden Hazard has been Chelsea’s top scorer with seven goals. He has added three assists. Hazard suffered a back injury during last week’s draw with Manchester United and was left out of Chelsea’s squad against BATE.

There is a good chance Hazard will not feature in the match as Sarri rests his star man. It could be Loftus-Cheeks opportunity to play. Pedro and Alvaro Morata have scored five goals between them.

Burnley are longshots to win, according to major sportsbooks. Burnley are –7 in goal difference this season. The Clarets have scored 10 goals which is eighth fewest in the Premier League. Forwards Sam Vokes and Ashley Barnes have scored two goals each. Burnley lack a dangerous threat in the final third which could affect any attempt at Premier League survival.

Defensively, Burnley have allowed the fourth most goals (17), but five of those strikes came against Manchester City last weekend. Dyche’s team has won just once at home in four matches. The good news for the team is it hasn’t lost in two straight home games.

Chelsea have gone undefeated in five of their last six matches against Burnley. The Clarets’ only win against Chelsea came at Turf Moor last term. Chelsea suffered two red cards during the shock defeat. Goals have been plentiful between the two teams. Last season saw over three goals per match. Their last six matches have all seen two or more goals.

Sunday’s match will see Chelsea continue their undefeated streak. The Blues are undefeated in nine games in the Premier League and that number will be pushed to 10 on Sunday.
