Ludogorets set for comfortable game against Videoton
On Wednesday evening, Ludogorets and Videoton go head-to-head in the Champions League second qualifying round in Razgrad.
Ludogorets have built up a decent amount of European experience in recent seasons, having featured in the Champions League in the last seven seasons. This time around, the Bulgarian side recorded a huge 9-0 aggregate victory over Northern Irish side Crusaders in the first qualifying round.
The win means that the home side has now won four of their last five games in Europe’s elite competition. They have also scored at least twice in all four of those victories.
Ludogorets recent Champions league games have been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven outings in the competition.
The Bulgarian outfit has a good recent home record in the Champions league, as they are now unbeaten in four games, having recorded three straight victories. The home side has also been prolific on home soil in the Champions League in recent seasons, scoring at least twice in six of their last nine games on home soil.
Videoton defeated Dudelange of Luxembourg 3-2 on aggregate in the previous round, drawing the first leg 1-1, before winning the home leg 2-1 to set up this tie.
The visitors have a poor recent record in Europe’s elite competition, though, having won just once in their last five outings. However, three of those five aforementioned games have finished in draws, so they have been relatively hard to beat.
Vidi have only played four Champions league games on foreign soil, winning just once, drawing once and suffering two defeats. The visitors have had some tough games, though, against the likes of Sturm Graz and BATE Borisov on their travels.
Forebet predicts that the experienced Ludogorets will record a comfortable victory in a high scoring game to put themselves in an excellent position to make the next round.
