On Tuesday afternoon, Poland and Senegal play their first game of Group H at the World Cup, as both teams look for a potentially crucial victory.

In truth, Group H has the potential to be the most open in the competition. With arguably no European or South American superpower in the group, all four teams will see qualification as a realistic aim in Russia.

Poland topped their qualifying group ahead of Denmark, Montenegro, Armenia and Kazakhstan. Adam Nawalka’s side suffered just one defeat in qualifying, as star striker Robert Lewandowski netted 16 times, the highest tally of any player in European qualifying.

They head into Russia 2018 on the back of a three-game unbeaten run after wins over South Korea and Lithuania as well as a draw with Chile. Nawalka’s side has been prolific in the recent unbeaten run, scoring at least twice in all three games.

Senegal will be participating in just their second World Cup this summer. Their only other appearance came back in 2002 when the Lions of Teranga made the quarter-finals. They remain one of only three African teams to have made the last eight of the competition alongside Cameroon and Ghana.

Aliou Cisse’s side qualified for Russia 2018 by topping Group D comfortably. They finished five points clear of second-place Burkina Faso.

The African nation has a number of Premier League players in their squad, including Sadio Mane of Liverpool, Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye and West Ham star Cheikhou Kouyate.

Cisse’s side’s recent results have been mixed. However, they have suffered just one defeat in their last ten international outings. Their recent international games have been low scoring with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five outings.

This game could be a tight one. However, Forebet predicts that Poland will record a potentially vital win in a low scoring clash.
