On Sunday night, Lazio host Inter at the Stadio Olimpico, as the two teams compete for the last Champions League spot in Serie A.

Lazio head into this game in control of their own destiny, sitting fourth in the table, three points clear of fifth-place Inter. However, an Inter win would mean that the men from Milan would seal a spot in Europe’s elite competition and Lazio would finish fifth-place.

Simeone Inzaghi’s team are unbeaten in their last ten outings in the Italian top-flight. However, a run of five draws in those ten unbeaten games, including in the last two matches, have delayed the home side’s qualification for the Champions League for next season.

Lazio’s recent home form in Serie A has been good of late, as they are now five games undefeated on home soil in the top-flight. Again, though, three of those five games have finished in draws. Their recent home games in Serie A have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven games at the Stadio Olimpico.

Inter Milan missed the chance to move level with the home side last weekend by suffering a shock 2-1 home defeat against Sassuolo. The defeat means that the visitors have now lost two of their last three league outings.

Luciano Spalletti’s team have been good for goals of late, as their last five league games in the Italian top-flight have produced over 2.5 goals.

Inter’s recent away form in the Italian top-flight has been mixed. However, they have won their last two games on the road at Chievo and Udinese. The visitor’s recent away games have been low scoring with under 2.5 goals scored in eight of their last 11 league games on their travels.

This game promises to be a fascinating encounter. Forebet predicts this game will end in a high scoring draw that will see Lazio seal fourth spot.
