Whitecaps to beat the Earthquakes

On Wednesday night, (Thursday morning in Europe) the Vancouver Whitecaps host San Jose Earthquakes at the BC Place Stadium.
The Whitecaps have made an inconsistent start to their MLS campaign. However, the Canadian outfit are still in the play-off spots in the Western Conference. A run of four defeats in their last six MLS outings has not helped their chances of remaining in the top-six, though.
Carl Robinson’s team have also won just two of their last nine outings in the US top-flight. Last time out the home side drew 2-2 with Houston Dynamo at the BC Place Stadium.
The home side has a mixed home record of late in MLS. However, the Whitecaps have lost just one of their last 14 league outings on home soil. Their recent home games in MLS have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in three of their last four league games on home soil.
The Whitecaps have failed to beat the visitors in their last five meetings in all competitions.
The Earthquakes have made a poor start to their MLS campaign, winning just two of their nine games so far in the US top-flight. However, the visitors have played two games less than the home side.
Last time out in MLS, the boys from San Jose ended a three-game losing streak by recording a 3-1 away win in Minnesota. The game was another high scoring encounter for the Earthquakes, as four of their last five MLS games have produced over 2.5 goals.
The visitors have a woeful record on the road in MLS, winning just two of their last 16 away games in the USA top-flight. However, one of those was that aforementioned victory against Minnesota in their last game on their travels.
Forebet predicts that the home side will record a victory in a high scoring encounter to maintain their position in the play-off spots in the Western Conference.
