Newcastle to sink the Baggies

Newcastle host rock-bottom West Brom on Saturday at St James Park, as the visitors look to avoid relegation for another week.

Newcastle United saw a four-game winning run in the top-flight end last time out, as the Magpies suffered a 1-0 defeat at Everton. The defeat means that Rafa Benitez’s side are tenth place in the top-flight table and still looking good for a top-half finish.

One major positive for the north east side of late is their away form in the Premier League, as Benitez’s side are now seven games unbeaten on home soil, having won their last four league games at St James Park.

The Magpies recent Premier League games have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last nine outings on home soil.

Another positive for the home side is that they have lost just once in their last ten meetings against West Bromwich in all competitions.

West Bromwich are all but relegated from the top-flight. In fact, the Baggies could suffer relegation this weekend if results go against them. However, interim boss Darren Moore is unbeaten in three games in charge, including a win at Manchester United and a 2-2 against Liverpool last time out.

However, the damage was done long before Moore taking the Baggies reigns. The team from the Midlands have won just two of their last 33 outings in the English Premier League in a woeful campaign.

The Baggies away record has been a major contributory factor in the team’s current league position. The side from the Midlands has won just one of their last 16 league games on their travels. The visitors have also suffered defeats in six of their last eight away games in the Premier League.

Forebet predicts that Newcastle United will record a victory in a low scoring game that would see the Baggies move one step closer to the Championship.
