Nottingham Forest set to hamper Barnsley’s survival hopes

On Tuesday night, Nottingham Forest host struggling Barnsley in the Championship, as the visitors look to escape the bottom three.

Nottingham Forest have endured another frustrating campaign in the second-tier of English football. The Tricky Trees are currently 17th place in the table after a poor run of form that has seen the Midlands outfit pick-up just one win in eight Championship games.

Aitor Karanka’s side has also lost four of their last five games in the second-tier, including last time out when they suffered a 2-1 defeat at promotion-chasing Cardiff City.

Forest’s last two games have produced over 2.5 goals after their previous six had produced under 2.5 goals.

The home side has won just two of their last eight Championship games at the City Ground, although one of those victories came in their last home outings against Ipswich.

Rather worrying for everybody connected with the club, Forest have failed to score in seven of their last ten home games in the Championship.

Barnsley are third from bottom, two points from safety after a poor recent run of form in the second-tier. The Tykes have won just once in their last ten outings in the Championship, failing to win in their last three second-tier games.

The visitor’s recent league games have been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five games.

The Tykes have won just one of their last eight away games in the second tier while losing their last four games on their travels in the Championship.

A factor in those away defeats is that the visitors have conceded two or more goals in three of their last four outings on the road.

The two teams head into this game in poor form, so it is unsurprising that Forebet predicts that the game will end all square.
