Clarets set to add to Potters woes

Clarets set to add to Potters woes

Stoke City looked to be staring down the precipice of relegation. The Potters are five points away from safety as they welcome north west rivals Burnley to the Bet365 Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Paul Lambert’s side recent form has been indicative of their season overall, as it has been woeful. The Potters have now failed to win in ten league outings, suffering four defeats in their last five top-flight games.

Scoring goals has been one of the biggest factors in the Potters struggles this season in the Premier League, as only three teams in the top-flight have scored fewer goals than Lambert’s side.

The Staffordshire outfit’s league games have been low-scoring with under 2.5 goals scored five of their last eight games.

Burnley are enjoying a stellar campaign under highly-rated boss Sean Dyche this season. The Clarets are currently seventh place in the Premier League table, heading for their best ever league finish in the Premier League era.

The visitors will be hoping that a 2-1 home defeat by Chelsea last time out is only a blip, as the defeat ended a five-game winning run for the Lancashire side in the top-flight.

Dyche’s side had also been prolific on that winning run, scoring at least two goals in all five of the victories.

The visitor’s away form has improved greatly of late, as the Clarets have now recorded three straight wins on their travels in the top-flight.

Forebet predicts that Burnley will put another nail in the coffin of Stoke City’s survival hopes, recording a win in a low scoring game.
