Southampton have endured a difficult Premier League campaign under two different bosses. The Saints struggles have seen them drop into the relegation zone.

The south coast side has a chance to move out of the drop zone in the Premier League early kick-off on Saturday when they host struggling reigning champions Chelsea at St Marys.

Southampton have won just once in their last 19 Premier League outings, while also suffering three straight defeats in the English top-flight. Mark Hughes side produced an improved performance against Arsenal in a 3-2 defeat last time out, though.

Finding the net has been a big problem for the Saints, who have failed to score in four of their last six top-flight games. The south coast side will be hoping the return to fitness of top scorer Charlie Austin will help solve the problem.

The home side’s form at St Marys has been great in months, as they have failed to win in eight Premier League games on home soil. To make matters worse, the south coast side has lost their last four games against the Blues.

Chelsea’s form has been woeful of late in the Premier League, as five defeats from their last eight league games have all but ended the Blues chances of even finishing in the top-four this season.

Last time out in the league, Antonio Conte’s side drew 1-1 with struggling West Ham at Stamford Bridge. The draw only fuelled the fire of speculation that boss Conte may leave the club in the near future.

One of Chelsea’s main problems in the top-flight of late has been conceding too many goals. The reigning champions have kept just one clean sheet in their last eight Premier League outings, which is unlike a Conte team.

Both teams head into this game in poor form. However, Forebet predicts that Chelsea’s superior quality will show and the Blues will record a win in a low scoring encounter.
