Toffees to frustrate the Swansea

Toffees to frustrate the Swansea

Swansea City have enjoyed a resurgence in form since the appointment of Portuguese boss Carlos Carvalhal in December. Despite an improvement in form, the Swans are still just four points clear of the Premier League relegation zone.

The Welsh side could move further away from the drop zone on Saturday afternoon if they defeat midtable Everton at the Liberty Stadium.

Carvalhal’s team have been inconsistent of late in the top-flight, though, winning just one of their last five outings in the Premier League. Last time out the Swans could only pick up a 1-1 draw against rock-bottom West Brom.

One major positive for the Swans of late has been their home record in the Premier League, as the Welsh side has won their last four league games at the Liberty Stadium.

The Swans have also suffered just two home defeats in the top-flight in their last nine games, which were against top-four occupants Manchester City and Tottenham.

Everton have been highly inconsistent this season and have little left to play for the remainder of the campaign. Many of the Toffees players are playing for their futures, though, so the Merseysiders may not be easy opponents.

Sam Allardyce’s team drew 0-0 with Liverpool in the Merseyside derby last time out, which has to be seen as a missed opportunity as the Reds rested a number of key players for the clash.

The visitor’s away record has been woeful in the last year or so. However, the Toffees won 2-1 at Stoke in their last away game in the top-flight, a win that ended a run of five straight defeats on their travels in the Premier League.

The visitor's games on their travels have been high scoring of late, with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six games.

Forebet predicts that this game will end all square and the Swans will remain in danger of suffering relegation.
