On Sunday afternoon, Arsenal, host Southampton at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League, with the visitors in desperate need of three points.
Arsenal now look out of contention for the top-four and the Champions League spots, as they now trail fourth-place rivals Tottenham by 13 points.
However, the team from north London have recorded consecutive 3-0 wins in the Premier League against Watford and last time out against Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium.
Those two wins followed the theme of high scoring Gunners games, as nine of their last ten games in the top-flight have produced over 2.5 goals, including their last four league games.
Arsenal still has a strong home record in the Premier League despite a poor campaign, as the Gunners have won 17 of their last 21 league games at the Emirates Stadium, including four of their last five outings. Arsene Wenger’s side has also scored at least two goals in six of their last seven home games in the top-flight.
Southampton are currently 18th place in the table, two points from safety after a nightmare run of results. The aforementioned poor run consisted of the Saints winning just one of their last 18 games in the Premier League.
Mark Hughes’ side has suffered consecutive 3-0 away defeats in the top-flight, with the Gunners recent home record it would not be a surprise if that record stretched to three straight 3-0 defeats in the top-flight.
The team from the south coast have won just one of their last 13 away games in the Premier League, having suffered eight defeats in the process. The visitor’s recent away games have been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five outings on their travels.
Forebet predicts that the Saints will suffer more misery on their travels, suffering a heavy defeat in a high scoring game.
