Seagulls set to move one step closer to survival
Brighton could move within one win of Premier League safety when the Seagulls host fellow strugglers Huddersfield at the Amex Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Despite suffering consecutive league defeats, including last time out against Leicester, Chris Hughton’s side are six points clear of the relegation zone. A win would put the home side within touching distance of the 40-point mark.
The 2-0 defeat at home against Leicester last time out in the top-flight ended a three-game winning run on home soil in the Premier League. The Seagulls recent home games have been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six league games at the Amex.
A big contributing factor to the high scoring games of late is that the south coast team have scored at least twice in four of their last six outings on home soil.
The Seagulls have enjoyed the better of recent clashes with the Terriers on home soil of late, as they are unbeaten in five home games against the visitors.
Huddersfield are currently just three points above the drop zone, having played one more game than 18th place Southampton.
The visitors have failed to win in their last four Premier League games, losing three times in the process. Last time out David Wagner’s side suffered a 1-0 defeat at Newcastle. The defeat was the fourth straight league game to produce under 2.5 goals.
One of the reasons for the Terriers perilous position in the table is their recent away record in the top-flight. The visitors have won just one of their last seven away games while losing five of their last six league games on their travels.
This could be a big game for both sides. However, Forebet predicts that the home side will record a victory in a low scoring encounter.
