Bristol City set to boost play-off hopes
On Monday afternoon, Bristol City host Brentford at Ashton Gate, as the home side attempt to enhance their play-off chances.
The Robins have been one of the surprise packages of this season’s Championship. Lee Johnson’s side are only outside the play-off spots due to inferior goal difference to promotion rivals Derby and Middlesbrough.
Last time out, the home side drew 2-2 at struggling Barnsley, a result that means that the Robins have won just one of their last four league outings.
Johnson’s side are strong on home soil, as they are unbeaten in five home games in the second tier, winning three and drawing two of those outings.
Brentford are currently 11th in the Championship table and will still harbour slim hopes of making the play-offs, as the Bees are only seven points behind the top-six.
A poor recent run of form in the Championship has not helped their cause, as they have now failed to win in their last four league games, picking up two draws and losing twice.
The visitor’s recent games in the second tier have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six games in the Championship.
Brentford’s recent away record in the second tier is the definition of inconsistent, as the visitors have won four and lost four of their last eight games on their travels in the second tier. The Bees recent away games in the Championship have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six outings.
Forebet predicts that Bristol City will record a victory to boost their promotion chances and virtually end the visitor’s hopes of a top-six finish.
