Cadiz and Huesca set for draw in big Segunda clash

On Monday night, Cadiz host promotion rivals Huesca at the Estadio Ramon de Carranza in a vital Segunda clash.

A recent run of inconsistent form has seen the home side slip out of the automatic promotion spots and down to fourth-place in the table. However, they now look to be back on the track after back-to-back league wins in the Spanish second tier, including a 1-0 win at Cultural Leonesa last time out.

The consecutive wins mean that they are just two points behind the second-place visitors in a tight race for promotion to La Liga.

A big positive for Cadiz of late is their home form, as they are now unbeaten in 12 league games on home soil, while also keeping a respective seven clean sheets in the process.

A slight negative for the home side, though, is that they have won just one of their last five encounters with the visitors.

Huesca’s hopes of automatic promotion have been hampered by a poor run of form of late, as the visitors have failed to win in their last five league outings.

Last time out Rubi’s side suffered a potentially crucial 2-0 defeat against another promotion rival Sporting Gijon. The defeat means that the visitors have now failed to score in three of their last four league outings.

Another concerning issue for Huesca is the fact that they have conceded at least two goals in four of their last five outings in the Segunda.

Rubi’s side has also failed to win in their last three away games in the Spanish second tier, suffering two defeats in the process. The visitors simply cannot afford to slip again in this clash.

Both sides will be desperate for victory to aid their automatic promotion chances. However, Forebet predicts that this will be a tight game finishing in a low scoring draw.
