On Saturday evening, Liverpool host struggling Newcastle at Anfield in the Premier League, as the Reds look to return to second spot.

Liverpool have hit form just at the right time of the season. The Reds have won three of their last four games in the Premier League, which has left the Merseysiders just two points behind second-place Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp’s side moved up to second last Saturday with a 4-1 win over West Ham. However, United’s 2-1 home win over Chelsea on Sunday saw the Red Devils return to second spot.

A bit part of Liverpool’s recent good form has been their effectiveness in front of goal. Klopp’s side have now scored two or more goals in ten of their last 11 games in the English top-flight.

The Reds are unbeaten in 16 Premier League outings at Anfield, winning four of their last five league games on home soil. The home side have also scored two or more goals in their last five league games at home.

Newcastle are still in the thick of the relegation battle, just two points clear of the drop zone in 15th position in the table.

Last time out the Magpies drew 2-2 at Bournemouth, which means that Rafa Benitez’s side are now unbeaten in four league games. However, three of those four games have finished all square. In fact, the team from the north east have drawn four of their last six league games.

The visitors have failed to win in their last three away games in the Premier League while recording just two wins in their last 12 league games on their travels. The Magpies have also conceded at least two goals in six of their last nine away games in the English top-flight.

Forebet predicts that Liverpool will record a routine home win in a high scoring game to enhance their chances of clinching a Champions League spot this season.
