Alaves set to defeat Levante

On Thursday night, Alaves host Levante at the Estadio de Mendizorroza in La Liga, as the home side look to move well clear of the relegation zone.

Alaves are currently 16th in La Liga, but they are nine points clear of the relegation zone and eight points clear of the 17th place visitors. A win would move them well away from danger.

The home sides form in La Liga has been decent of late. However, a 4-0 defeat at reigning champions Real Madrid last time out ended a four-game winning run.

Their recent La Liga games have been goal-filled, as there have been over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six games in the Spanish top-flight.

Abelardo’s team have a very good recent home record in La Liga, having won five of their last six games on home soil. A big reason for their recent decent home form is a defensive improvement, as they have kept clean sheets in four of their last six league games.

Levante are currently 17th place and just a point above the drop zone. The Valencia-based outfit have been in woeful form of late, as they have failed to win in their last 13 La Liga games, which has greatly contributed to their current position in the table.

A 2-0 home defeat against Real Betis last time out was the visitor’s third consecutive defeat in the Spanish top-flight. It was also the sixth straight game that Levante had conceded two or more goals. Their leaky defence has contributed to there being over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six games in La Liga.

Juan Muniz’s team have failed to win in their last seven away games in La Liga while losing four of their last five matches on their travels.

Forebet predicts that Alaves will record a victory in a high scoring encounter.
