Reigning French champions Monaco are currently second in the Ligue One table, 12 points behind runaway league leaders PSG. However, the priority for Leonardo Jardim’s team is now to claim a Champions League spot.

On Friday night, the team from the principality will be looking to enhance their chances of claiming a Champions League spot when they host midtable Dijon.

The home side are currently ten games unbeaten in Ligue One, having recorded seven wins in the process. Last time out, the French champions recorded a 4-0 away win at Angers.

Jardim’s team have been prolific in recent Ligue One games, scoring at least two goals in their last five outings in the French top-flight.

Monaco have a very good recent home record in Ligue One, winning five of their last six games at the Stade Louis ll, while also scoring two or more goals in their last five home league games.

Dijon have experienced mixed fortunes in Ligue One of late. The visitors are currently 12th place in the French top-flight table, just six points off the relegation play-off spots.

The visitors have won their last two matches in the French top-flight against Rennes and last time out 2-1 against Nice. Their recent Ligue One games have also been high scoring, with 11 of their last 12 league games producing over 2.5 goals.

Dijon have faced Monaco on six occasions, failing to win any of the encounters and suffering four defeats in the process.

Olivier Dall’Oglio’s side have lost their last six away games in the French top-flight, while they have also won just one of their last 19 games on their travels in Ligue One. The visitor’s main problem on their travels of late has been conceding goals, as they have conceded 19 goals in their last five away games in the French top-flight.

Forebet predicts that Monaco will record a comfortable victory in a high-scoring encounter.
