Real Madrid and PSG to finish all square

On Wednesday night, Real Madrid and PSG go head-to-head at the Santiago Bernabeu in the Champions League last-16 first leg.

The two teams are considered potential candidates to lift the trophy this season, but one of them will exit at the last-16 stage of the competition.

In truth, Real Madrid needs to do well in the Champions League, with the defence of their La Liga crown all but over. Zinedine Zidane’s side have been inconsistent of late in all competitions. The French giants have a decent recent record in this competition, winning six of their last eight games in the competition. The visitors won their first five group games before losing their final game against Bavarian giants Bayern Munich.

The visitor’s recent away record in this competition is an inconsistent one, as they have won two, lost two and drawn one of their last five games on their travels in Europe. A big feature of recent PSG games is goals and it is no different in the Champions League with over 2.5 goals scored in their last seven outings in this competition.
