Blues to win in Hertfordshire

On Monday night, Watford host reigning Premier League champions Chelsea at Vicarage Road, as the home side look to return to form in the top-flight.

Watford heads into this clash on the back of just one win in their last 12 Premier League outings. The Hornets have failed to win in their last five top-flight outings while conceding two or more goals in four of their last five league matches.

The recent poor run of form has seen the home side slip to 11th in the table, just three points above the relegation zone.

Last time out, Javi Gracia’s team picked up a 0-0 draw at relegation-threatened Stoke City. The game at least saw a clean sheet, just their second in the last 12 league outings.

The Hornets home record in the Premier League of late has been inconsistent. However, they have won just one of their last five games on home soil and two of their last eight.

Chelsea’s recent Premier League form has been inconsistent. However, a 3-0 home defeat against Bournemouth last time out was their first league defeat in nine top-flight games.

Antonio Conte’s side are currently just one point clear of fifth-place Tottenham in the race for a top-four spot this season. However, the Blues could find themselves third-place if they defeat Watford.

The Blues recent top-flight games have been high scoring, with four of their last five league games producing over 2.5 goals. However, Conte’s side have kept clean sheets in six of their last eight league outings.

The visitor’s away form has been mixed, but the Blues are unbeaten in four league games, recording two wins and two draws. They have scored two or more goals in three of their last four away games in the league.

Forebet predicts that Watford’s winless run will continue in this game and that Chelsea will record a victory.
