Baggies and Saints to finish all square
In a massive game at the bottom of the Premier League table, West Brom host Southampton at the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.
West Brom’s form has improved slightly of late under Alan Pardew. However, the Baggies have still won just one of their last 23 games in the Premier League. Last time out, the side from the Midlands suffered a 3-0 defeat at leaders Manchester City.
The weekend results left the Baggies bottom of the table and four points from safety in the English top-flight. A win here would massively boost their survival hopes.
The home side have won just one of their last 11 games at the Hawthorns in the Premier League. However, that win was in their last home league game against Brighton.
Meanwhile, four of their last six home games have finished in draws. The Baggies recent home games have also been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five league games at the Hawthorns.
Southampton arrive in the Midlands just three points above the home side in the table and a point from safety. A big factor in their current league position is the fact that the visitors have failed to win in 11 league outings.
Like the home side, though, the Saints have a recent habit of drawing games, drawing four of their last five games in the top-flight. Last time out Mauricio Pochettino’s side drew 1-1 with Brighton.
Their recent Premier League games have been relatively low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last eight league games.
The team from the south coast have failed to win in their last nine league games on their travels.
This game is a massive one for both sides. However, both teams seem to love a draw and Forebet predicts that this game will end in a low scoring draw.
