On Wednesday night, Utrecht host Feyenoord in the Eredivisie, as the two teams look to move up the Dutch top-flight table.

Utrecht are currently sixth place in the table, just three points behind the visitors in the table. Both teams are in the Europa League play-off spots but are some distance behind third-place AZ, who occupy the one automatic Europa League spot.

The home side’s form has been inconsistent of late, as they won one, drawn three and lost one of their last five Eredivisie games. Their recent league games have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five league games.

Last time out in the Eredivisie, Jean de Jong’s side drew 1-1 with AZ at the Stadion Galgenwaard. De Jong’s side have a decent recent home record in the Eredivisie, losing just one of their last 17 league games on home soil. However, three of their last four league games at home finished all square.

Feyenoord’s form of late has been decent. A 2-0 defeat at Ajax in their last Eredivisie outing ended an eight-game unbeaten run for the men from Rotterdam.

The visitor’s recent games in the Dutch top-flight have been low scoring, with under 2.5 goals scored in five of their last seven league outings. Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team have been inconsistent on their travels in the Eredivisie of late, winning three, drawing two and losing one of their last six away games.

The visitors have been prolific on the road in the Eredivisie, though, scoring at least two goals in five of their last eight away games in the Dutch top-flight.

Feyenoord have also scored at least twice in their last four meetings with Utrecht in all competitions. The men from Rotterdam are unbeaten in their last five meetings with the home side.

There is not much between these two teams in the table, so it is unsurprising that Forebet predicts that this game will end in a high scoring draw.
