Potters and the Terriers set for a close encounter

Potters and the Terriers set for a close encounter

On Saturday afternoon, Stoke City host fellow strugglers Huddersfield at the Bet365 Stadium in the Premier League, as the home looks to escape the relegation zone.

Stoke are currently third from bottom in the English top-flight table. However, the Potters are just a point away from safety, so could end the weekend out of the drop zone with a victory in this game if results go their way.

Unfortunately, not much has been going their way in recent months. The Potters have now failed to win in their last four league outings, while also suffering three consecutive defeats in the Premier League.

Last time out, the team from the Potteries suffered a 3-0 defeat at Manchester United. The defeat at Old Trafford saw the Potters fail to score for the third consecutive league game.

The home side have a mixed home record in the English top-flight. However, a record of just two wins in their last seven home league games illustrates why they are in such a poor position in the table.

Huddersfield’s steady start to their maiden Premier League campaign is now a distant memory. A recent poor run of form has seen the Terriers drop to 14th place in the table, just four points above the home side.

The visitors have failed to win in their last five league games while winning just once in their last seven league outings. Last time out in the top-flight, David Wagner’s team suffered a 4-1 mauling by West Ham.

The Yorkshire side have a poor recent record on their travels, as they have won just one of their last ten games on their travels in the Premier League, suffering seven defeats in the process. Wagner’s side have also failed to score in eight of their 11 away games this season in the league.

With both sides heading into this game with low morale, it unsurprising that Forebet predicts that this game will be a low scoring draw.
