On Sunday afternoon, Barcelona host Levante at the Nou Camp in La Liga, as the Catalan giants look to maintain a healthy lead at the top of the table.

Ernesto Valverde's team are experiencing a stellar campaign. The league leaders are currently nine points clear of second-place Atletico Madrid. However, the team from the Spanish capital can cut that gap to six points on Saturday lunchtime with a win over Getafe, at least temporarily anyway.

The Blaugrana head into this clash on the back of three consecutive La Liga wins, although Celta Vigo held them 1-1 on Thursday in the Copa del Rey.

The Catalan giant's record in La Liga in recent months is impressive, as the home side are now unbeaten in 24 outings in the Spanish top-flight. A key to that good form has been Barcelona’s sheer firepower in La Liga, as they have scored two or more goals in 22 of those 24 unbeaten games in the Spanish top-flight.

Barcelona’s home record is even more impressive, as they are unbeaten in 25 La Liga outings at the Nou Camp, recording 21 wins in the process.

Levante are just above La Liga’s relegation zone. In fact, the visitors from Valencia are just three points above the drop zone in the Spanish top-flight. A run of just one win in their last 12 games has not helped their league position.

The visitors have also had major problems scoring goals of late in La Liga, failing to score in four of their last five league outings.

To make matters worse Juan Muniz’s team have won just one of their last 20 away games in the Spanish top-flight. A 2-1 win at Barcelona’s city-rivals Espanyol in the Copa del Rey last time out may just lift spirits at the club, though.

Unsurprisingly Forebet predicts that Barcelona will record a victory in a high scoring game.
