Everton’s fortunes have turnaround in recent weeks. On Wednesday night, the Toffees have the chance to continue their recent good form as they visit out-of-sorts Newcastle.

The home side have suffered an alarming dip in Premier League form of late. The Magpies have now lost six of their last seven outings in the English top-flight. A big factor in that poor run of form is woeful defensive displays, as they have now conceded at least two goals in their last five Premier League outings.

The Magpies have now also suffered three straight home defeats in the Premier League, last time out suffering a 3-2 defeat against Leicester.

The home side do not have a great recent record at home against the Toffees, as the Merseysiders have won on three of their last four visits to St James Park in all competitions. The north east side have also won just one of the last nine meetings with Everton in all competitions.

Things are looking up at Everton. The Merseysiders are now four games unbeaten in all competitions, having recorded three wins. Last time out, Sam Allardyce’s side ground out a 1-1 draw at local rivals Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.

Prior to the derby, Everton had kept three consecutive clean sheets in all competitions, having improved majorly at the back in the last few weeks.

One negative for the Toffees is their away record in the top-flight. The Merseysiders have failed to win their last 16 away games in the Premier League, with their last top-flight win coming back in January.

The Toffees have also struggled for goals on their travels in the Premier League of late, scoring just five times in their last seven away games.

With the two teams in such contrasting form, Forebet predicts that the Toffees recent good form will continue in this clash and the visitors will leave with all three points.
