Reigning Spanish champions Real Madrid host Sevilla on Saturday afternoon in La Liga, in what could be a tricky encounter for the home side.

Zinedine Zidane’s team have certainly not been performing like champions of late in La Liga, as their inconsistent form has saw Los Blancos drop to fourth place in the table.

Their last five La Liga games have produced two wins, two draws and a defeat, which by the home side’s high standards of last season is very poor indeed.

Last time out, Athletic Bilbao held the European champions to a goalless draw at San Mames. It was the second consecutive La Liga away game that Zidane’s team had been held on their travels in La Liga.

However, their recent form on home soil has been rather more impressive in La Liga, as the champions have recorded four wins in a row at Bernabeu, scoring at least twice in each of those wins.

The home side have also suffered just one defeat in their last five meetings with the visitors in all competitions.

Sevilla head into this clash level on points with the champions and a win would see the Andalucian’s leapfrog Zidane’s team in the table.

Eduardo Berizzo’s side have been in decent form of late in La Liga, winning four of their last five games in the Spanish top-flight and finding the net at least twice in all four victories.

However, the visitor’s recent form on their travels in La Liga has been poor, as they have lost four of their last five away games. They did end a four-game losing streak on the road last time out by winning 3-2 at Villarreal, though.

Sevilla should provide a test for Real Madrid in this clash. However, Forebet predicts that the team from the Spanish capital will record a comfortable win over the visitors.
