With Europa League action on Thursday night, there are only a handful of games to look forward to domestically on Friday with one of the biggest taking place at the Estadio de Balaídos between Celta Vigo and Leganes.

This will be the first match of the weekend in La Liga and gives both teams the opportunity to make a move up the table and add a bit of pressure before the bulk of the teams get the chance to play.

Celta Vigo come into this match needing maximum points to lift themselves towards the top half of the table.  They start the game in 13th place in La Liga and even a win may not be good enough to lift them above 11th but at least they will be moving in the right direction.

Trends show Celta Vigo have won only 2 of their last 11 home league games and this highlights where the problems lie for Juan Carlos Unzue and his players.

However, Celta Vigo did win in-front of their own fans following the international break, defeating Athletic Club 3-1 before falling to a 2-1 defeat at Sevilla last weekend.  The hosts have failed to keep a single clean sheet in their last 7 games and both teams have scored in each of their last four.

Leganes make the trip to Celta Vigo sitting 8th in La Liga but have lost each of their last three league games and will be looking to get back to winning ways in this match.

Despite losing the three games, each match has been against tough opposition with defeats coming at Sevilla and Valencia, plus at home to Barcelona.  Therefore, Asier Garitano will see this game as the perfect opportunity to pick up maximum points.

The main issue for Leganes in their last three matches has been conceding goals in the first half of games and trends show they have been losing at half-time in all three matches, before going on to lose the match at the final whistle.  Leganes will need to start this match better if they want to take something from the game.

Trends show Leganes have won only three of their last twenty away La Liga games but all three of those victories have come this season.

Looking ahead to the potential team news and Celta Vigo will be without Ruben Blanco who is suspended for this game.  Facundo Roncaglia and Emre Mor are fitness doubts.

Leganes will travel without Jon Ander Serantes who has a shoulder injury while Omar Ramos has a thigh injury, meaning the midfielder could miss out.

Celta Vigo will be hoping to take advantage of Leganes poor recent form but their defeats have come against teams contesting at the top of the table. Celta Vigo do not have a great record at home and Leganes will be hoping to repeat their victory of last season, winning by a single goal margin.
