Blades set to move to the top of the table
On Friday night, two of the Championships top teams Leeds United and Sheffield United go head-to-head in a Yorkshire derby at Elland Road.
The home side started their Championship campaign in good form. However, their form has dipped slightly of late, as Thomas Christiansen’s team have now lost three of their last four games in England’s second tier.
The Whites did end a three-game losing run last time out with a 3-0 victory at Bristol City, though. Another positive is that the home side are still fourth in the table. In fact, a win in this clash would leave them just one point behind the third place visitors.
Leeds recent Championship games have been high scoring, as there have been over 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five league games. Their form on home soil has been decent in the Championship this season, as they have lost just one of their last seven home games in the league.
However, that defeat was in their last home game against Reading. The defeat against the Royals ended a three-game winning run for the Whites at Elland Road.
Sheffield United are enjoying a very good return to the Championship after promotion from League One under crowd favourite Chris Wilder. A win at their Yorkshire rivals could see the Blades move to the top of the Championship table.
The visitors form in the second tier of late has been good, as they have now won four of their last five games in the league. Last time out, Wilder’s team recorded a 2-1 home over Reading. Their recent away record in the league is good, as they have won three of their last four league games on their travels.
This game has the potential to be a fascinating encounter between two teams hoping to challenge for promotion this season. Forebet predicts that the Blades will record a victory and move to the top of the table.
