In one of the ties of the Carabao Cup fourth round, Premier League leaders Manchester City host Championship leaders Wolves at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.

Manchester City have been in fantastic form of late and are currently five points clear at the top of the Premier League table. Last time out the Citizens recorded a 3-0 win over Burnley in the English top-flight.

The victory over the Clarets means that Pep Guardiola’s side have now won their last 11 competitive games. The Citizens have also scored two or more goals in ten of those 11 unbeaten games.

Last time out in this competition, City recorded a 2-1 win at Premier League rivals West Brom. This competition is not a priority for boss Guardiola, so the Catalan chief is likely to field a rotated starting line-up.

However, with the resources available to the former Barcelona boss, City’s starting line-up is still likely to be strong at the Etihad Stadium.

Wolves have made a good start to life under Portuguese boss Nuno Santo Espirito Santo. The Midlands outfit are currently two points clear at the top of the Championship after five wins in their last six league games.

One major factor in their good season so far has been their effectiveness in front of goal, as Santo’s team have now scored at least twice in six of their seven games in the English second tier.

The visitors did need extra-time to see off Bristol Rovers in the last round of this competition, though. Like City, the League Cup is not Wolves priority, but they will be keen to give a good account of themselves at the Premier League leaders.

This should be an interesting clash between two in-form teams, which Forebet predicts will end in a Manchester City victory.
