Atlanta to continue strong form against Minnesota

On Wednesday, in-form Atlanta United will look to put pressure on the top two in the Eastern Conference, as they host Minnesota United at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Atlanta are currently third in the Eastern Conference, just three points behind New York City in the race for a top-two finish. The home side have been in fine form in MLS of late, as they have won five of their seven games in the American top-flight.
Tata Martino’s side have also scored two or more goals in seven of their last eight MLS outings, so are prolific in front of goal. Atlanta are also hard to beat, as the team from Georgia have suffered just one defeat in their last 15 MLS outings.
Martino’s side are 12 games unbeaten on home soil in MLS, having recorded ten wins in the process. They have also scored two or more goals in ten of those 12 unbeaten home games in MLS. In their MLS history, Atlanta have lost just two of their 15 games on home soil.
The visitors are currently ninth in the Western Conference and are playing for very little but pride at the moment. They have endured mixed fortunes in MLS in recent games, but have won just two of their last five games in the American top-flight. Last time out, Adrian Heath’s side suffered a 2-1 defeat at Houston Dynamo.
Minnesota have a very poor record on the road in MLS. The Blaine-based side have won just two of their 14 away games in MLS and suffered 10 defeats in the process.
Their biggest problem on the road has been conceding too many goals, as they have conceded at least two goals in 12 of their 14 away games in MLS.
Atlanta heads into this game in far better form than the visitors do, so it is understandable that Forebet predicts that the home side will record a victory in this clash.
