Dortmund to see off Tottenham at Wembley
Wembley has not been a kind stadium to Tottenham, as this season Spurs have picked up just one point from two Premier League games at their temporary home this season.
However, the north London side have a chance to get back to winning ways on home soil on Wednesday night when they face German side Dortmund. This clash is not an easy one for either side.
Tottenham struggled at Wembley in the Europa League last season, which led to the north London side underperforming in Europe’s secondary competition. Everybody connected with Spurs will hope that their performances and results will be better in the Champions League at the national stadium.
The home side will head into this clash on the back of an impressive 3-0 win at Everton on Saturday. A big factor in the win was a return to form of striker Harry Kane, who ended his season goal drought by scoring twice on Merseyside.
Despite that big win last time out, Spurs will be wary of this clash, as Mauricio Pochettino’s side have won just one of their last four Champions League games. The north London side have also won just one of their last five Champions League games on home soil.
Dortmund have made a bright to life under new boss Peter Bosz and are currently top of the Bundesliga, having recorded two wins and a draw in the German top-flight. BVB’s good start slightly stalled with a goalless draw at Freiburg last time out, though.
The visitor’s recent record in the Champions League is also not great, as BVB have won just one of their last five games in Europe’s elite competition. The German side have also recorded two wins in their last seven away games in the Champions League.
