New York City to see off Sounders at Yankee Stadium

On Saturday evening New York City host Seattle Sounders at the Yankee Stadium, with both teams looking to improve their positions in the Eastern and Western Conferences respectively.

The team from the Big Apple are enjoying a solid campaign so far and are third in the Eastern Conference table. However, Patrick Vieira’s team trail second-place Chicago by four points and leaders Toronto by a further point.

Last time out the home side suffered a 1-0 derby loss to city rivals New York Red Bulls in the US Open Cup. Their form in MLS has also been mixed of late, as they have won two, drew two and lost two of their last six games in the American top-flight.

However, their form at Yankee Stadium has been decent in MLS, as Vieira’s side have suffered just two defeats in their last 16 MLS outings on home soil. Their home games have also been high-scoring in MLS of late, with over 2.5 goals scored in 11 of their last 12 games on their home patch.

Seattle have found form in MLS of late, winning three of their last four games in the American top tier. A recent improvement following a poor start to the campaign has seen Brian Schmetzer’s side move into the last playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Sounders form on the road has been poor in MLS, though, as they have recorded just one win in their last nine away games. The visitor’s recent away games in MLS have been high-scoring, as there has been over 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last eight away games in the American top tier.

Seattle very much arrive in New York as the form team. However, Forebet predicts that the home side will come away from this game with maximum points.
