Coritiba to come out on top against Bahia

Coritiba will look to continue the promising start to their Brazilian Serie A campaign on Thursday night, as they host Bahia at the Estadio Major Antonio Couto Pereira.
The home side are currently third in the Serie A table, having picked up 13 points from their six league games so far. The team from Parana are unbeaten in four games in the Brazilian top-flight, winning three and drawing one of their last four games. Last time out the home side drew 2-2 at Botafogo to keep up their decent form in the league.
Coritiba have a good recent home record, having suffered just one defeat in their last 13 home games in Serie A. Pachequinho’s team have in fact won five of their last six home games in Serie A.
Their recent home games in Serie A have been low scoring, though, as eight of their last ten home games in the league have produced under 2.5 goals.
The recent history of this fixture is definitely in the favour of Coritiba, who are unbeaten in 16 games against the visitors in all competitions. Despite Coritiba being involved in many low scoring home games of late, the last three games between these two teams at Coritiba have seen over 2.5 goals scored.
Bahia have endured a mixed Serie A campaign so far, but are currently eighth in the table and a win would put them just one point behind the home side in the table.
The promoted visitors have lost their last four away games in Serie A stretching back to their last spell in Serie A in 2014. Ironically, that run includes a 3-2 defeat at Coritiba in their last spell in the Brazilian top-flight.
