Sevilla will be looking to move one step closer to securing a spot in the Champions League for next season, as the Andalucian’s welcome Real Sociedad to the Sanchez Pizjuan on Friday night.

Sevilla have slipped out of the title race in recent months, after looking like they would challenge Spain’s big two for the crown for much of the campaign. However, Jorge Sampaoli’s side are still fourth in the table with just three games to go this season.

The home side will be confident of sealing a top-four spot but will be highly aware that fifth-place Villarreal are five points behind and looking to capitalise on any slip-ups. A win in this clash would surely put Sampaoli’s side too far ahead of the Yellow Submarine in the battle for a top-four position.

Sevilla’s four-game unbeaten run in La Liga was brought to an end by a surprise 4-2 defeat at Malaga last time out. The Andalucian’s will be keen to put that result right with a victory over La Real in this clash.

They have a good home record in La Liga at the Sanchez Pizjuan, winning eight of their last 11 games on home soil in the Spanish top-flight.

Real Sociedad could still catch Sevilla and are currently seventh in La Liga, a point behind Athletic Bilbao who occupy the last Europa League spot.

La Real head into this big clash in confident mood after three straight wins in the Spanish top-flight. However, the men from San Sebastian have lost three of their last four away games in La Liga, although two of those games were at Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.

Real had looked set to challenge for the Champions League spots earlier this season. However, they will now be focussing on finishing in the top-six and a place in the Europa League for next season.

Forebet predicts that Sevilla will end La Real’s recent good run and move one step closer to securing a top-four finish in La Liga.
