On Friday night, big spending French outfit PSG have a chance to move level on points with Ligue One leaders Monaco as Unai Emery’s team visit Angers on Friday night.

The home side are sitting in the relative comfort of 12th position in Ligue One, eight points clear of the relegation zone. Last time out they suffered a rather unlucky home defeat against Monaco. The league leaders rotated their squad but managed to nick a 1-0 win against the midtable side.

Angers recent form has not been great, as they have lost three of their last four Ligue One games, including their last two in the French top-flight.

Their home form has been pretty good of late in Ligue One, though, with that defeat against Monaco their only loss on home soil in the top-flight in seven games.

One negative for Angers heading into this clash is that they have never beaten PSG in seven Ligue One encounters, having claimed just three draws and suffered four defeats.

PSG head into this game in top form and a win would move Unai Emery’s side level with leaders Monaco. However, the men from the principality would still have a game in hand and also a far superior goal difference.

The side from the French capital have won their last five games in the French top-flight, scoring at least twice in four of those victories. The visitor’s away form has also been impressive of late, as they have recorded six consecutive victories in Ligue One.

Emery’s side have been prolific in those recent away wins, scoring at least two goals in their last five away games in the French top-flight.

Forebet predicts that PSG will put pressure on Monaco at the top of the table by recording a win at Angers and enhance their chances of retaining their crown as French champions.
