Clarets can continue good home run against the Saints

The battle to stay in the Premier League looks set to be very tight this season. However, it seems that Burnley may well avoid the relegation dogfight. The Clarets started the campaign as one of the favourites to be relegated to the Championship.

However, Sean Dyche’s team have defied the odds and are currently eight points clear of the relegation zone. A big factor in the Clarets decent position in the table is their recent form at Turf Moor.

On Saturday the Clarets host inconsistent Southampton in the Premier League, looking to record their sixth win from their last seven league games on home soil. Dyche’s team have also been prolific at home in the top-flight, scoring two or more goals in four of their last six home games in the league.

In contrast to their home form, overall the Clarets have lost six of their last nine games in the top-flight. At Turf Moor, though, they have become a force to be reckoned with.

Southampton head into this clash just a point above the home side in the table. Claude Puel’s side have recorded just one win in their last five games in all competitions. However, that win came in their last outing a 1-0 win over Liverpool in the EFL Cup semi-final first leg on Wednesday night.

The Saints have not been great on their travels of late, as the south coast side have won just two of their last 12 games on their travels in all competitions. Puel’s side have been involved in a number of high-scoring games of late on their travels, with over 2.5 goals scored in four of their last five away games in all competitions.

Forebet predicts that the Clarets will record another home victory and move above the visitors in the Premier League table.
