Liverpool have been prolific this season in the top-flight, scoring a league high of 30 goals in the English top-flight so far. The Reds eye for goal currently sees them occupy second place in the table and just one point behind leaders Chelsea in the table.

The goalless draw at Southampton was particularly surprising, as the Reds had scored two or more goals in their previous four outings. On home soil Jurgen Klopp’s side have been highly prolific, scoring two or more goals in eight of their last ten home games in the top-flight.

The Reds face a Sunderland side that have enjoyed a slight resurgence of late in the top-flight. Back-to-back wins has seen the Black Cats climb off the bottom of the table. A 3-0 win over Hull will have certainly lifted spirits in the north east clubs camp.

The form of former Everton striker Victor Anichebe has been one of the key to that good form, as the Nigerian has scored three times in his last two outings for the side from the north east. The big striker will be hoping to add to his goal tally against the Reds.

This game will be a major test of the Black Cats resolve after those consecutive victories for David Moyes men. I doubt many are expecting them to come away from Merseyside with anything, but another decent performance could keep the momentum going at least.

Forebet predicts a return to winning ways for the home side, which could well move Klopp’s side back to the top of the Premier League table.
