Watford can continue good run at Burnley

Watford’s results have improved of late under Italian boss Walter Mazzarri, after successive wins over West Ham and Manchester United. The Hornets visit Premier League new boys Burnley on Monday looking for a hat-trick of wins in the top-flight.

A feature of Watford’s play in the last two games has been a touch more attacking adventure from the Hornets. Mazzarri may just have let his players off the reigns and it has yielded seven goals in those two wins.

French midfielder Etienne Capoue has been in sparkling form in front of goal, scoring four times and also produced an assist in the Premier League so far this season. Mazzarri’s style has allowed the former-Spurs star more freedom to maraud forward and cause opposition defences problems.

Mazzarri was regarded as an innovator in Italian football during his time with Napoli and certain has his own football philosophy. It seems the Italian’s ideas and philosophy is now instilled in his players and the team are starting to produce more positive results.

The home side have lost three of their last five games in all competitions, so morale is likely to be low. The Clarets have also won just once since returning to the top-flight, so Sean Dyche’s team will be desperate to pick up maximum points.

Dyche’s team have struggled to score goals, having failed to score in three of their last four games in all competitions. The Clarets attacking options have been reduced by a four-game handed out to striker Andre Gray for homophobic comments on social media.

All the signs point to another disappointing outing for Dyche’s men on Monday night. Watford have found their feet in spectacular style in the past few games. The Hornets have rediscovered their confidence and form.

Mazzarri’s side also have the momentum to continue their winning run at Turf Moor and continue their ascent up the top-flight table.
