West Ham could be the team that trip Leicester up

For much of the campaign Premier League leaders Leicester City have been producing stellar performances. The Foxes are seven points clear at the top of the English top-flight, but still people are waiting for Claudio Ranieri’s men to slip-up.

They keep grinding out result through sheer resilience and grit, but Sunday’s home game against a very dangerous West Ham represents a different sort of challenge. The Hammers are free-scoring and will be a big threat to the Leicester defence.

Ranieri’s side have been fantastic at the back in recent weeks and have kept six clean sheets in their last seven top-flight matches. Those defensive displays have been the key to their good results, as they have won four of their last five games by 1-0 score-lines.

West Ham have been free-scoring this season and have scored at least two goals in their last four top-flight outings. With Leicester on the verge of sealing the title the West Ham game is a banana skin waiting to happen.

The Hammers are still fighting to secure a Champions League spot, although are outsiders to Manchester City and Manchester United for a top four spot.

Even if Leicester fails to beat the Hammers though, the Foxes are firmly in control of their own destiny. However any slip-up would provide second-place Tottenham with a chink of light in the title race, which they desperately need at the moment if they are to have any hope of winning the league.

Leicester have been fantastic this season and the expected implosion has yet to happen. It seems it that the slip-up may never happen and the Foxes are heading for the title, but Sunday’s game gives Tottenham some slight that the Foxes may be caught.
