Sunderland game could be a banana skin for Leicester

Premier League leaders Leicester could stretch their lead at the top of the table to ten points in Sunday’s early kick-off at Sunderland. However, the trip to the Stadium of Light could be a major banana skin for the Foxes.

The Black Cats are in the bottom three of the English top-flight and four points away from safety. However Sam Allardyce’s side could claim to have been unlucky in their last four games, which they have drawn.

The side from north east have not been awful this season, but they have struggled for goals and that has cost them at times.

Leicester’s title rivals will be looking and hoping for the Foxes to slip-up in the north east and the Blacks Cats have the potential to cause a shock.

The visitors games of late have been relatively close in terms of score-line, as their last four Premier League games have finished with 1-0 wins. The Foxes have been superb at the back in recent weeks, so the home side will perform better in attack than in recent weeks.

Leicester have the ability to grind out results and put in resilient displays. Those qualities will be needed against a team desperately fighting for their Premier League lives this season.

Claudio Ranieri’s team have surprised a lot of people this season with their performances. A win in the north east would not be a surprise, but it would move the Foxes another step closer to securing the most unbelievable Premier League title triumph ever.
